Ashad 15, also known as Ropain Diwas or National Paddy Plantation Day, is a unique and lively festival celebrated across Nepal, especially in the farming communities. Marking the peak of the rice planting season during the monsoon, this jatra honors the deep cultural and agricultural roots of Nepalese society. Traditionally, farmers take to their muddy fields to transplant rice seedlings while singing folk songs, dancing, and splashing each other with mud, turning hard labor into celebration.
